Classes, commissions, talks, travels, new beginnings and bittersweet endings have turned my brief blogging hiatus into a full blown sabbatical.

Life has intruded, as it sometimes does, so I'm taking this opportunity to go with the flow and see where it leads. The next two months will see me off on an South African adventure, exploring the savannas and enjoying the Portuguese Islands as well as a (potentially) final European jaunt eating and shopping my way through Rome and Paris before heading back to Dublin one last time to pack up and move on to the next big thing. Exciting times are ahead, and though the future remains unclear, I'm doing my best to embrace the unknown.

Finding Your (photography) Eye: part 2

Kat's Finding Your Eye e-course finished up last week and in true form I'm ever so behind in wrapping things up. Better than late than never, I'd thought I'd share some gleaming gems of knowledge gained with y'all Nuggets. (you can read about part 1 here)

I love photographs of people but I rarely take them as I usually produce less than stellar shots. Prompted to spend time practicing photographing something familiar, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to get better at shooting people. And by "people" I of course mean one specific person who I could ~~force~~ convince to let me take 50 plus photos of him.

Luckily for me, though he was less than thrilled, S. Monster didn’t put up much of a fight. I suspect it's because he learned how to ignore my obtrusive ways years ago. Regardless, with Stereomood on in the background, I sat and happily snapped away, trying new settings and exploring different angles. After I loaded them up on the computer I saw that, except for 2, most of the shots didn’t turn out as I would have liked. Those that did however, were happy accidents where the slight blurriess and faded light added an element that I could never have captured otherwise.

Kat’s e-course helped me focus in on what characterizes my photographic eye as well. Studying some of my favorite photos I saw that elements such as color, light, texture and lines/ shapes were consistent throughout my work.

There is a power in being able to vocalize what defines you. It helps narrow your focus and hone your skill to perfect what it is that makes you, you.

It’s a lesson that permeates far beyond the subject of photography, and one that as I slowly build a business I’ve seen the importance of first hand.

This course has helped me further define not only my photographic eye, but my design and artistic eye as well.

To the extreme

If you happen to follow me on twitter you might have noticed that last week I started the P90x program. I debated mentioning anything on here, as despite surviving the first week, I'm still 87.23% certain I'm going to die before I reach day 90. But really, what's the point in failing if no public humiliation is involved?

These past few months I've been anything but consistent when it comes to eating clean and working out. There's been several failed attempts to resuscitate some semblance of a routine but nothings really worked until now.

I know I need some sort of structure to kick my ass into shape and that's exactly what P90x does.

So far in week 2 day 11, I'm in a constant state of soreness, but not so much that I've lost basic functions like being able to dress myself or pee. I take it as a good sign. Gotta relish those small victories.

Aside from being in great shape what I'm really looking forward at the end of all this is finally having amazing abs of awesomeness. True story: when I was younger (read: last month) I used to draw a six pack on with eyeliner. I'm hoping that after these 90 days I'll have a six pack that draws itself on....

{Travel} Road Trippin' the Irish edition

Recently S. Monster and I packed up Blue Steel (our tiny but lovable '97 blue Nissan Micra) and headed off on an impromptu road trip down south.

Hidden in the woods outside Cahir, we stumbled upon the adorable and oh so delightful Swiss Cottage that seemed to have sprung to life from the very pages of a fairytale.

At night we strolled the quaint town of Kilkenny, instantly smitten by the charm of Birdies Bar and General Store. Though to be fair, how can I resist any place that offers chocolate, cardboard Moose heads and alcohol? (answer: I can't)

We spent a rainy morning wandering the Apple Farm of Tipperary. I'm not sure why, but I've been obsessed with going here ever since I heard about it last year. It's about what you'd expect an apple farm to be, nothing but row after row of orchards in the middle of nowhere, but I adored the solitude and simpleness of it all.

Sometimes I find it so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life that I forget to take time to enjoy the simple things. The weekend was the perfect escape, a chance to disconnect from the daily rigors of computers, phones and status updates.

What made the weekend so special though was not the things we saw but the company shared as we went from place to place. The times spent laughing, sharing stories and enjoying the ride....that dear Nuggets, is what makes life sweet.

...Well, that and fresh apple juice.

Find your (photography) eye

This week I'm super stoked to be starting the Find your Eye e-course by the amazingly talented Kat Sloma. A genius behind a lens, she not only creates effortless stunning photos that transcend time and place (her market series exemplifies this perfectly), but Kat is also able to a break down each shot and explain technically how and why it works in such a way that even I, in all of my dazed and confused glory can understand. And that, boys and girls, is saying something.

But photography is more than simply understanding the technical side of things. Anyone can take a pretty picture but to create images that truly resonate, you first need know and understand your eye, and that is where this journey begins.

To become great at anything you have to take the time to build a solid foundation. Action, commitment and time my friends, is what is needed to be successful at anything. Easier said then done I know, but just between you and me, I've bitched about wanting to be a better photographer for long enough. I think it's time to actually do something about it rather than pretend that one day I'll be granted magical powers that make me awesome at anything I touch....

Until then though let's start at the beginning shall we? What does photography mean to me? For me photography is about capturing a moment, a time, a place or a mood. Like a glimpse behind a drawn curtain, photography is a way to freeze a stolen glance of a world hidden from daily life. It is seeing the tiny, unnoticed details that form the essence of a moment and can tell a story.

Over the next two weeks, I'll be using this space as my photo journel as I dive into this e-course, expanding upon the above and further developing my eye. Get excited.

Titles are hard

Apologies for the delay in posting Nuggets. Poor S. Monster's been a bit under the weather ever since we got back from our delightfully impromptu road trip. Being the good wifey that I am tho, I've taken fine care of him these past few days (I made him instant chicken noodle soup and everything!), but in the process somehow managed to put off writing anything with substance... my bad.

To top it all off my computer's apparently decided to go on strike, randomly shutting down or freezing up every 5 minutes. It took me nearly all day to upload and edit 10 photos. It's been fun. I've decided to go on the offensive though. Sledge hammers and computers totally mix right?

In other news, I have like a ~~billion~~ 3 posts in various stages of half done, but fret not. While I gather my wits about me (and continue to procrastinate) I leave you in the (questionably) capable, hilariously funny hands of Hannah from My Drunk Kitchen.

{Travel Tuesday} Dublin Edition: The Supper Club Project

Last week S. Monster and I had the good fortune to snag one of the few remaining reservations for Dublin's newest popup venture, The Supper Club Project.

Run by the amazingly talented (and uber adorable) chefs Sandy Sabek and John Wye, the Supper Club Project is an 8 course taster menu held once a month. A labor of love, Sabek and Wye create a night that reaches the highest degree of excellence rarely found here in Dublin. From the attention to detail, to the ambiance, service and, of course, the food, nothing is overlooked.

S. Monster and I first stumbled across The Supper Club Project back in May and immediately knew we had to attend again. At €65 per person it's not the cheapest night out and as the date approached we were worried that the second time would never be able to live up to the first. How wonderfully wrong we were.

Glasses of elderflower processo and truffle parmeson popcorn greeted us upon arrival as we mingled (or rather would have mingled were we not scarfing down the popcorn like it was our job) and waited to be seated. With a maximum capacity of only 32 guests seated at one of 2 long wooden tables, the evening was an intimate affair. A welcome change from the usual seclusion you find yourself in at most restaurants, it created a lovely festive atmosphere only further fueled by the BYOB policy (which we most definitely took advantage of).

Sabek and Wye, along with their incredible team, put together a new menu that was as outstanding as the last. As someone who was an incredibly picky eater, primarily only eating fried food, cheerios and peanut butter for the first 18 years of her life, I've come a long way to self confessed foodie. That said, it still speaks volumes of Sabek and Wye's talents that dishes such as Foie Gras and Plaice, when prepared in their magical hands, were so delicious I could not get enough. It was like tasting a rainbow.

After our first time I swore that the second time around I would take better pictures of the evening. But with the lovely company, pleasant conversations, delicious food, glasses of bubbly and wine (lots and lots of wine) I didn't stand a chance. I did however manage to take a lot of really questionable photos of halfway eaten dishes and/or empty plates. So at least there's that.

Finding your voice

Thank you all so much for the sweet comments and notes of encouragement from my post the other day about facing fears.

Another related issue that I’ve struggled with these past 2 years, has been finding my voice as an artist. As someone whose always known who she was in the academic sense and yet who only recently started developing who I am as an artist, it's been a weirdly wonderful journey of discovery.

Please stand by: Technical Difficulties

This is a story about how Blogger and Google Reader teamed up to make me look a fool.

The other day drafts of 2 different posts accidentally got published before they were supposed to. They were live for about an hour before I realized what had happened and could delete them. I didn't think much of it at the time until today when I (re)published one of them only to have a friend then email me asking why I had posted 2 identical write ups about the chair Mae I upholstered.

Apparently if you delete a post after it's been live, even if no trace of it shows up on your dashboard or on your blog, Google Reader will still make sure it lives on infinitely.

At least I didn't write about something super embarrassing like the time (read: this morning) I hadn't realized my foot was asleep until I fell on my face after trying to stand up.

Or that time at summer camp when I was 8 and in my haste to go swimming accidentally took my top off before realizing I did not actually have a bathing suit on.

That would have been awkward.

As it stands, for those of you who have Google Reader congrats, you now get to read about my awesome chair twice.

I will, however, save you the hardship of having to reread about a super rad pair of Frye Harlow Campus Booties in charcoal I'm totally crushing on these days.

Happy Friday! I'm off to the studio but I thought I'd share an introduction of Ms. Mae, one of the first chair's I upcycled and reupholstered completely on my own.

Perfectly imperfect, this sweet gal was almost beyond repair. With a bit of love, and a lot of elbow grease (and potentially some swearing), she’s been given a lovely new lease on life.

Here's to living

Last week was one of those no good, horrible weeks. The kind where you feel like you can’t do anything right, where the world seems to conspire against you and you find yourself asking - what’s the point?

Rather than turn outward for help though I turned inward, allowing myself to wallow in my own insecurities, doubts and self pity.

This in turn resulted in a lot of cookie dough eating.

I will say this though, rather than let what I have now affectionately titled ‘the darkness’ consume me, I turned toward sketching. I forced myself to use the negativity for productivity to fuel my imagination to create monstereous, flesh melting creatures needed for the concept art I’m doing for an online game. I find it hard to really get the whole disturbing monster thing down when life is full of unicorns and rainbows.

And even though guilt ate me up for not devoting much needed time to this blog or Calalita Designs, I know myself well enough to not go after these things I love when battling The Darkness. Even though it pained me, taking time to clear my head and reset my priorities was vital.

The thing is, life around here lately has been a bit chaotic. Huge changes full of unknown variables are on the horizon which is a bit scary in itself but when combined with uncertainties and insecurities from just launching a business - it can all be a bit maddening.

This weekend though, I realized a simple yet profound truth. Life can be however I want it to be. Yes, there will be challenges and difficulties to face, but rather than letting those situations dictate my direction, I can choose how I want to react.

If I had wanted an easy life I would have chosen the path of least resistance. I would not have started my own business in an industry where I had to teach myself everything, in a city where it feels as though it’s not what you do, or how well you do it, but rather who you know that dictates how much you succeed. Talk about imposing. And frustrating!

Calalita Designs was born out of necessity as much as love. There has always been an unexplainable drive to prove myself as financially independent and when I suddenly found myself married, in a country where I was neither allowed nor had to work, that desire grew into an (questionably unhealthy) obsession.

I had always wanted to have my own business and do something creative so the timing seemed ripe to somehow combine the two. I mean, if I couldn’t get a job working for someone else, why not work for myself? It took me 2 years to figure out exactly what I wanted and another 6 months to get it going.

But here I am, doing what I love and trying to find my way in this big wide world. I’m not sure where this will all lead or if it will even succeed but I can’t worry about anymore. For too long, I’ve stressed out over this unnecessary pressure I’ve put on myself, thinking I have to “succeed” in a purely monetary sense. I haven’t really mentioned that because heaven forbid I sound vain, but it’s true. The need to prove myself financially independent has steered me away from the point of Calalita Designs - to do something I loved.

I’d wake up in the morning and dread having to go into the studio, or work on a new painting. And then I’d feel guilty for not loving doing what I love. Who does that? Crazy people and me. That’s who.

The pressure I put on myself wasn't real. I finally understood that it’s been nothing but useless. I’ll have to work whenever S. Monster and I move back to the States but I don’t and can’t for right now and that’s ok. I want to do what I love and not feel like it has to succeed right this very minute or I’m a failure at life.

I just want to do the best I can with what I have and know that it's enough. Maybe it succeeds, maybe it doesn’t, but that’s ok. I don’t know where this will lead, but I believe in what I’m doing and I know that I’m on the right path.

Let's face it, this is not the easiest path, and I will continue to be plagued by difficulties, but damn if I’m not prepared to fight to stay here. I want to live a creative life - not because I feel I have to - but because I want to.

{Travel Edition} A Romanian Pitstop

Wedged in between Budapest and Istanbul lay a brief pitstop in Romania during a 3 week Eastern European trip (read more about it here, here and here)

Misprinted train information resulted in a less than 24 hour stay rather than the initially planned 2 day adventure in this land of Gypsies and Vampires.

Our train coming in arrived later than expected and was scheduled to depart 8 hours earlier than anticipated the following day. Mis-stamped bus tickets almost resulted in a 50 leu fine, while misquoted information from our booked lodging for the night led us on a 6 hour wild goose chase through the Transylvania countryside in search of a place we never found. As a consequence, we arrived at Bran's castle, the sole highlight of our trip, just as it closed for the evening.

Even with the best of intentions, it was only after everything went utterly, hopelessly awry that things started to fall into place. Stranded in Bran, with no place to stay and no idea what to do, we found ourselves caught up in a moment of spontaneous uncertainty, where there was nothing to do but let go of any notion of control and embrace whatever the open road had in store.

It was then that we met a group of 3 couples after they sat down at the table next to us. One thing led to another and we soon discovered our new neighbors were on a bike tour from Israel. They were staying at a lodge up the road and when they learned of our predicament,immediately invited us to come stay the night with them.

With an open mind and with no other alternatives, we gathered our bags and followed them to a quaint guest house ran by a lovely French woman. The rest of the evening was spent laughing, drinking and reveling in their shared tales of adventure, travel and life.

Romania was nothing like we had anticipated and yet it was all the better because of it.

Pricing your work

I'm a big fan of Kelly Rae Roberts. I adore her and her style, but most importantly I love her honesty, eloquence and humility on discussing topics that, as an artist, I find myself bumping up against on a frequent basis.

One such topic is pricing you work. Etsy recently featured an overview of her thoughts on the matter, and I found them to be incredibly helpful. Though I think there's a difference between selling art in the traditional sense versus art in furniture or home decor, I do think a lot of Kelly Rae's points still apply.

As someone who is just starting out, pricing my work has been a struggle for me. With my furniture, some of my pieces took ages to complete. I am entirely self taught in my craft and this first furniture collection involved a massive learning curve. I learned, repeatedly, the hard way when something didn't work. As a result I spent a lot of unnecessary hours redoing and amending mistakes that (hopefully!) can be avoided in the future.

My goal for the furniture side of this business of mine is to create beautiful, funky, one-off pieces that are not only original and unique, but also affordable. I truly believe that every home should have a piece of furniture or decor that they love and that speaks to their character. Trying to find the balance between pricing based on current economic situations, competitiveness and affordability versus costs of materials and time put in though, has been nothing short of difficult. As this was my first collection, I found myself undervaluing pieces. Basing my pricing off what I would spend on the piece. I also found myself consumed with the tinnest of flaws and despite no one but myself bearing witness, or even knowledge of these, I still felt compelled to price things accordingly.

To give you a bit of perspective, the first piece I sold, after I took away the costs of materials and the stall at the market, left me with a wage earned of less than 5 euros an hour. Impressive I know.

Kidding aside, I realize that as I grow in skill the time it takes to complete each piece will decrease and my rates will be able to better reflect my ability. But at the end of the day I didn't start this purely for monetary gain - I did it out of love and passion for what I do.

With it's raw organic top balanced perfectly by the ultra glam gold metal base, it's a fabulous study of contrasts.

Postcard Swap

Back in July I was fortunate enough to be able to participate in the oh so lovely Kat's first Liberate your Art Postcard Swap. 170 participants from 13 countries and 37 US States came together to liberate 1020 pieces of art through the use of postcards.

How Kat manages to pull this off while simultaneously organizing a move from Italy to Organ and running an e-course, I'll never know - but pull it off she did.

{Introducing} Calalita Designs

Hot off the heels of the Brocante Market, I'd like to (finally!) introduce you to Calalita Designs!

A labor of love, Calalita Designs started as a tiny dream a long time ago.

Ever since I can remember I’ve always been drawn to art and color. Over the years it’s manifested itself in different ways, but it wasn’t until I moved to Dublin, Ireland in 2008 that I started to narrow my focus.

What began as a simple effort to make my apartment feel like a home, soon turned into a full fledged passion. My flat became my canvas where I was constantly upcycling my own furniture, painting walls, rearranging rooms and creating my own art.

Eventually I saw an opportunity to turn doing what I loved into a business. In late 2010 I acquired a small studio space and began teaching myself the tricks of the trade. Since then I have been remaking furniture and developing my own collection of mixed media illustrations that bit by bit I've been sharing with you here on Furi Kuri.

Inspired by nature, travel and the playful, whimsical side in us all, Calalita Designs is rooted firmly in the belief that home decor, like life, shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

I'm so thrilled to be able to share my site and my work with you all. I'm officially online now - how groovy is that? There's still quite a bit of tweaking and adjustments that need to be made so please bear with me as I navigate the uncharted waters that is wordpress and html code.

I originally had intended to slowly phase out and integrate Furi Kuri with Calalita so that the website and blog would all be in one. After I got the website up though, I realized that I wasn't quite ready to give up Furi Kuri. Compounding the issue was the realization that to make things more 'professional' I'd probably have to streamline and censor my posts more to help with marketing and image branding. I'm not sure that posts on travel, random musings or killing zombies would align with Calalita's aesthetic. Maybe it would work, but for now Furi Kuri will continue to be my personal blog and Calalita will house more a design and art centered focus, highlighting new pieces and any upcoming exhibitions.

I apologize in advance for what I'm sure will be a bit of overlap while I figure out what works best. Brocante Furniture Market

I apologize for the absence around here lately, but I promise dear nuggets, it hasn't been in vain. I've been working non stop and I'm so excited to finally share the news I was only able to randomly hint at before.

This past Sunday was the Dublin Brocante Market, were I (officially) unofficially launched my first furniture collection.

This is something I've slowly been working towards for what feels forever, a true labor of love (and blood, sweat and tears) that despite a few false starts has finally come together.
I've wanted to share all of this with you for ages, but every time I tried to write the words simply wouldn't come. In hindsight, I realize until now, that the timing was never quite right.

I believe that art is in essence an extension of oneself. As someone who is entirely self taught and still ~~making mistakes~~ learning as I go, my wavering confidence in my abilities prevented me from sharing that which had become so personal.

This market has been a goal of mine since the beginning of the year, a way to own my work and put myself out there. In the week leading up to it, despite being (mostly) prepared I hesitated telling anyone about it until Friday. Residual fears and doubts (hello neurosis, my old friend) kept creeping up but eventually the only way to silence those voices is to do that which you are scared of and embrace action.

The market was a wonderful experience and I am so grateful for the support of friends and most importantly S. Monster - without whom I wouldn't be where I am today.

I garnered a lot of attention and sold a few pieces but ultimately I realize that if I want this little business of mine to succeed, it's going to take a lot more than a stall at a market. It's going to be a lot of hard work, but I've always known that this market was merely a stepping stone. Now the real fun starts and mark my words - before I leave Dublin my name will be known.

{Book Crush} Hunger Games

It's been a long time since I was so completely and utterly transfixed by a book that it all but consumed me. Literally unable to put it down, I just finished Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins in less than 24 hours. Within the first 2 chapters I was hooked and now, even though it's finished I'm itching to start book 2. I've heard distant rumblings as the hype for this book builds, what with Hollywood turning it into a movie, and I'm so glad I read it before things blew up out of control (aka Hollywood turns it into the next Twilight).

Beautifully written and captivating from the start, you feel an almost instant connection to the main character. And as the sinister Big Brother world and true meaning of the Hunger Games is made known, you're left on the edge of your seat, desperate for more. Despite being 384 pages and packed from start to end, the book somehow feels too short, as if it's merely teaser of what's yet to come (aka I have yet to come to terms with the fact it's over). To be honest though, it's probably a good thing it ended when it did. As it is now, it's taking all my restraint not to start the second book, but with a ton of work still ahead of me, I know I need to hold off or otherwise I can just kiss any (further) form of productivity goodbye. Even though this has already pushed me way behind schedule on things and more than likely will result in an upcoming all nighter to finish things up,Hunger Games was totally worth it.

I have never been a huge fan of 4 post beds. I don't have anything against them mind you but they just never appealed to me. That is until I met this handsome devil. I love the dark, sleek edge the metal gives the frame. and the shape has a softness, almost feminine touch in it's masculinity. This bed is nothing short of sexy (yea, that's right. I said it. this bed is sexy!). Can't you just picture snuggling up under twinkling fairy lights in the winder or lying there on lazy summer days with light as air fabric floating in the breeze? Needless to say this is going in the "save" folder.

Happy Monday nuggets! The past few days have been crazy. My weekend was filled with work that I could never have gotten done without the help of some amazing friends. As we kick off a new week I thought I'd share some highlights from life around here that I'm incredibly thankful for.

{These lil guys were in our care for about a week while S. Monster and I fostered them until they were old enough to be adopted. It broke my heart to give them back, but at least I know they've ended up in a good home. Just so you know, it took all my resistance not to flood this blog with cute kitty pics (though if I get drunk later all bets are off)}

This kitchen makeover found via the always incredible Design*Sponge makes me weak in the knees. Done in only 3 weeks, it seamlessly blends industrial, rustic and vintage elements together to create a bright, airy and inviting space. I adore the use of high gloss white paint here to balance out the rough exposed beams and matte gray plaster walls. It's a gorgeous combination that was not only cost effective but simple to do. I never fail to be amazed at how easy a coat of paint can transform things! Add to that pretty turquoise accents, a salvaged wood table with mix matching chairs (love the green one) and a stunning light fixture and this little kitchen is being filed away for future reference. I've seen my fair share of wedding porn over the years, but nothing has ever left me so utterly breathless before. Not only are the bride and groom oh so cute and stylish (I love her blue cardigan and birdcage veil. And those shoes! Those shoes are the perfect blend of classic and quirky, beautiful and bold) but their entire event, down to the tinniest DIY details is simply amazing.

The venue itself is stunning. The vintage cameras, books and framed posters that all coordinate with the cushions and linens sets my heart a flutter. The oversized button cushion? The escort cards pinned to a mannequin bust? The adorable homemade signs to wave after the ceremony? The gorgeous wreath and fantastic bride/ groom chairs? The taco bar?!? Be still my heart! It's all almost painful in it's perfection. I am so inspired by this beautifully crafted, one of a kind space I want to live here. Heck I'm so in love with this event I want marry it and have it's little wedding babies.

Sometimes I just need lil push at the start of the week, a jolt to get me out of my post weekend haze. I've been feeling a bit disappointed in myself lately - frustrated at how long its taken me to finish a specific task or how things haven't turned out quite like I hoped. Looking over my goals from last week I felt overwhelmed with inadequacy by the number of tasks that did not get accomplished. I was about to drag myself to bed when I stumbled across this quote.

This past weekend was a lovely productive few days spent painting and creating. I finished up a few paintings I'd been working on and rediscovered my love of pencils. It's always been the medium I enjoy the most and am the most comfortable with but yet it's the medium that lately I've work the least with. Coming across an old sketch I did last year reminded me just how much I'd missed it.

As we kick off a new week and month, here's to starting again, to reconnecting with that you've missed and to find joy in the little things.

{Fashion} Fix Thursday

I enjoy perusing fashion blogs from time to time and love seeing the creativity that comes out in one's clothing choices. I don't really follow (or believe in) "fashion trends" per say, instead taking bits from here and pieces from there that inspire new ideas. For me, fashion is about having fun and dressing up to be whoever you feel like being on any particular day. Whether it's a punk rocker, a retro housewife, or Chiquita Banana.

While I adore blogs like cupcakes and cashmere or man repeller for their pretty eye candy, my thrift shopping unfortunately doesn't afford me the luxury of Miu Miu heels, 3.1 Phillip Lim dresses or Mulberry bags. And to be honest, even if I did have the money for those things, I still wouldn't buy them (ok, maybe I'd make an exception for a pair of Miu Miu heels). For me nuggets, money will always go first and formost to travel. Or pillows. Mostly travel though.

That said, I'm always looking out for similar silhouettes or styles I like on a more low cost scale. So imagine my pleasant surprise when I stumbled across the oh so stylish and affordable fashion blog of Kendi Everyday. She's adorable, witty and thrifty. Two years ago, I followed my husband to his hometown and decided to start a blog instead of having a baby. So far this has faired well. While our surroundings got smaller, my closet got bigger and I wanted to share my wardrobe with more than just the 5 people who saw me everyday (who were never that impressed, anyway).

Pillow crush

I kinda have an obsession with pillows. They're the easiest way to add color, make a statement or completely change the feel of a room. In my opinion, you can never have enough.

That said, I just stumbled across this dodo pillow (that also happens to be on sale), and I'm not gonna lie, I'm having a hard time resisting. I know I show, but seriously, how can you not love this? Just between you and me, I think this quirky lil guy would be perfect in my living room...

{Travel} Budapest my Budapest

2 cities in one

Hero's Square

A merge of two cities into one, Buda and Pest, Budapest combines the best of both worlds. The Buda side is lush with rolling green hills, hot springs and laid back attitudes. The Pest side is a metropolis of thriving culture, underground nightlife and controlled chaos. Yin and yang, this weirdly wonderful Eastern European city was one of my favorites (for more of my Easter Europe Trip go here, here and here). Not quite as edgy as Prague, yet not as prime and proper as Vienna, Budapest is a city with a flair all it's own that flys under the radar of most tourists. The people are friendly, the nightlife is crazy and the langosch is deadly delicious. What is langosch you ask? It is the quintessential late night snack after one too many drinks consumed, i.e. pure Hungarian genius. After two 6am runs back to back, this lil fried dough snack topped with sour cream, cheese and salt was my saving grace.

Budapest was wrought with new friends, fun filled adventures and several late nights. We stayed in one of the sketchiest hostels of the entire trip that turned out to be the friendliest (isn't that how it always works though?). Got invited out to a friend of the hostel owner's gig and went dancing with reckless abandon. We drank pitchers of mojitos in cute cafes and drank Hungarian beer in a tent while a big burly man played the flute. We soaked up the warmth from the thermal baths and met up with a close friend of a friend (who became our new best friend) and who brought us to an off the radar music festival that lasted all day and all night.

What not to do in a Hungarian bathroom

I know this is the worst photo ever, but the scene here is too good not share. Imagine please a really shitty band comprised of men dressed as cartoon Street Fighters,a WWF wrestler, a rabbit and a giant inflatable penis. Add to that the odd midget, chicken costume and S&M latex clad backup singer and you know have an idea of what was going on. Enjoy the mental image

Bringing sexy back one jumpsuit at a time

One of the top highlights from Budapest though was the caving tour we went on. Underneath the residential districts of Buda, lies a multi-level labyrinth cave system that stretches out over 100 km in length. The cave we explored was located in the Duna-lpoly National Park and roughly 20km long. Upon arrival 2 buses and almost an hour later, we were given a overall suit and helmet with light, and with guide in tow taken to a hidden steel door that led down into the depths of the earth. Like being in the movie Goonies, we climbed, clamored, squeezed and slid down rocks moving from chamber to chamber. There were times when the spaces we had to wiggle through that were no wider than my hips and no taller than your helmet.

The experience was beyond incredible and I can not recommend it enough. It's not for the claustrophobic - as it is definitely dark and cramped but I can guarantee it will be one of the coolest things you do. Want more info to plan your own Goonie adventure? Go here

In the end, I admit I didn't want to leave. And not because I had a 20+ hour train ride ahead of me. No, Budapest snuck in and stole a piece of my heart. I realize it had more to do with the experiences while there - the new friends, the wild nights, the adventures - rather than perhaps the city itself. But really in the end, isn't that what travel is all about? A city is a city, filled with pretty buildings and cute cafes anywhere in the world you go. It's those unexpected twists, the embrace of chance encounters and getting swept up in the moment that make a place truly special.

Master Bathroom Makeover

Happy Monday Nuggets! Remember way back when, when I mentioned that I was redoing our master bathroom? No? Well suffice to say that project came and went I just realized I never shared it with you. Pretty horrible of me I know but to kick off this week I thought I'd make amends. It's the least I can do.

This was what the master bathroom looked like before. I'm afraid I didn't take any proper "before" shots of the apartment - in my crazed need for color I randomly grabbed whatever shade of blue made me happy on the day. Looking at it now it kinda reminds me of a color you'd paint a nursery, or 5 year old boy's room.

Either way it was miles better than the original beige colored walls that were here when we moved in, though to be fair, it's still miles from where it needed to be. Everything was sort of cobbled together in a failed attempt at a cohesive look or feel that neither worked in the room alone, or as a part of the bedroom.

Since this would be the second time I'd be painting the room, I wanted to make sure that it actually flowed from the bedroom and worked with the rest of the space while keeping costs as minimal as possible.

Once I decided on a color scheme that would work with bedroom along with the towels and linen I already had, I made only a few minor changes. I switched out the rubbish bin along with the baskets for our toiletries (as bathroom storage doesn't seem exist here in Ireland).

The soap dispenser was found on sale for a few euros at T.K. Maxx, while the little "sugar" holder was found for only .50 cents at a charity shop. The sea shells were collected from the beaches in Florida and the woven balls had been used in a different room (originally from IKEA a year or so ago). I distressed the frame I had to give it a more weathered look and replaced the print with an old vintage map of Ireland I found on ebay for 8 euros.

The wooden mirror I actually had stashed in the back of a closet for a future project and had completely forgotten about it. It wasn't until S. Monster accidentally knocked over and broke the old mirror, causing a need for a new one, that I even remembered it. Talk about a happy accident! The mirror has a wonderful nautical feel that reminds me of a porthole on a ship and I think added the perfect finishing touch.

Personally, I adore how the bathroom came out. The color used on the walls is a gorgeous deep teal that seems to change from blue to green depending on the light. As this was the first time I'd used such a bold jewel tone I admit I was a bit nervous but am completely in love with it turned out. The depth and richness of the walls are only accentuated from the various textures used. I think it all comes together to create this feeling of being out at sea, as if everyday is filled with infinite possibilities. Who says design can't inject a little fun and adventure into your day?

It took roughly only 3 days and 60 euros to transform the bathroom which in my mind is only further proof that great design doesn't have to cost a lot!

It feels like there's been something going on every weekend for the past month or so, so this time S. Monster and I are enjoying a few days of lying low. With the return of the sun after a weeks absence, we've been soaking it up in between catching up on various projects that fell by the wayside during the week. It's been so long since I didn't have any set plans that I forgot how lovely it could be!

A crazy cool concept store with incredible chandeliers, one of a kind furniture and funky decor and fashion accessories. If that's not enough to tempt you though, this place is worth a visit for their cafe alone - the sandwiches and staff are delightful

2 floors of incredible Dutch design and art, this store is definitely not to be missed. I snagged some fantastic wallpaper for 50% off and can't wait to use it in upcoming projects.

A 3 story concept and high end design and fashion store that is utterly inspiring. Showcasing works such as Tadaaki Narita's Lucky Cat pinball machine and Tejo Remy's loosely bundled set of found drawers, Droog showcases design as it was meant to be seen. It mixes the insane with the ordain all the while invoking questions, eliciting answers and leaving you in awe.

I discovered this place a few years ago when it was still known at the Egg Mercantile. It's a true "cabinet of curiosities" in every sense of the word and is an amazing little shop specializing in all things unique, nonconventional, weird and wonderful. From home decor and accessories to jewelry and books it's almost impossible to walk out empty handed.

It's tiny, open for only a few hours a few days out of the week and located on the second floor with what appears to be an almost vertical flight of stairs to climb but it is more than worth it. Easily the best pancake joint in Amsterdam this hidden gem is fantastic and not to be missed. You have been warned.

With it's pretty, canal lined streets and abundance of beautiful parks Amsterdam is a city that seamlessly merges urban life with nature.

Unlike Dublin, New York, Buenos Aires or London, Amsterdam doesn't take itself too seriously. Tall, thin and incredibly good looking, the Dutch seemingly invented the look hipsters the world over try and inevitably fail to imitate. I have never in my life been surrounded by so many beautiful people at one time before. Like a more stylish older brother of Prague, Amsterdam oozes classic cool design in everything from buildings to bikes to people.

Combined with warm and welcoming hospitality, an incredibly efficient and easy to navigate city layout, clean streets, design shops galore and incredible food, everything about Amsterdam encapsulates this infectious vibe that makes you want to pick up and move there.

On Friday S. Monster and I danced to our newest favorite artist - Parov Stelar - who did not fail to impress at the VRIJ Festival. A DJ and live band rolled into one, Parov Stelar put on a fantastic set that you couldn't help but jive too. By the end of the day we'd picked up a few important festival tidbits. First, if a festival goes from noon to midnight, don't show up at noon. Second always double check and see if you're allowed to leave and reenter the venue before going in. This is especially true if the venue only serves overpriced shots of beer and pizza. You live and learn though and despite a few setbacks, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

The rest of the weekend was spent lazily dodging the rain by popping in and out of design and vintage shops as we explored the city. We sipped vanilla lattes in quaint cafes, played silly games and in the evenings sought out delicious food.

One particular epic quest took us through wind and rain to a floating Chinese palace - ironically called The Sea Palace - whose food, more than made up for our not so dry journey.

Despite only visiting when it was cold, or, as was the case this weekend, raining, my love for this city has yet to diminish. Rather it simply continues to grow. Even though I could have stayed an entire week (or more!) our weekend trip was oh so lovely nonetheless.

Overall, it was the kind of trip that relaxes and revitalizes you. We had no fixed agenda, and despite or maybe because of the rain we just enjoyed each moment as it came, wandering and altering plans as we saw fit.

Happy Harry Potter Weekend!

S. Monster and I are still getting our dance on in Amsterdam, but I wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Harry Potter weekend. I'm a little bummed I missed the midnight showing, but believe you me as soon as the plane touches down back home in Dublin, we'll be hitting up the cinema to see Deathly Hallows Part 2 with wands in hand.

That's right, I said wands. We picked up one each at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Florida when we visited back in January. I also have some glow in the dark Harry Potter Glasses I scored from the last book midnight release party I'll be rocking as well.

Admit it, you're pretty jealous of how cool we are, aren't you? Now if only I could get my hands on some chocolate frogs and Butterbeer....

{Inspiration} Steampunk edition

There is something so utterly inspiring by the entire steampunk movement. Born from minds such as H.G. Welles and Jules Verne it's a genre, community, artform and way of life all rolled in. It creates a fantastical universe that seamlessly blends 1800 Victorian aesthetics, worldly technology and science fiction ideals. It seeks to recapture a spirit of invention, adventure, wonder and craftsmanship that one can't help but be excited by. I've mentioned my fondess for steampunk before (here) but lately find myself drawn more and more into the world of Steampunk.

I discovered 2 gems recently that are my current source of Steampunk inspiration:

First up is 1000 Steampunk Creations. I received this lovely book in the mail last week and am pretty sure I ignored S. Monster for the rest of the night (what? It happens). I debated whether to buy this book instead but am so glad I ended up with the choice I did.

This is page after page of carefully curated and swoon-worthy images divided into 7 categories ranging from Home Decor to Inventions with everything in between. There's a 2 page introductory and then nothing but 301 pages of pure visual bliss. Every time I flip it open, I find myself blown away by all of the creativity and attention to detail that is poured into every single creation. This is easily my new go-to when I need a little inspiration boost.

I also stumbled across this short film, "The Bird," the other day and haven't been able to get it out of my head since. It's hauntingly beautiful, a steampunk Bride of Frankenstein-esque creation that is equally lovely as it is dark.

This is a fully functional iphone dock. Crazy, right? It has a working handset, complete compatibility with USB cable and each individual iRetrofone is "hand-sculpted and hand-cast in urethane resin." Wowza that's impressive.

Next up is nothing short of a master piece. This hand crafted work of art is titled "Trojan Horse III" by Willie Bester and was shown at the Robert Bowman Gallery in London. It was painstakingly crafted out of scrap metal from cars and motorcycles and was created to highlight the 25th anniversary of the "Trojan Horse Massacre." More info can be found here

{Travel} Biking Along the Danube

On our last day in Vienna J and I joined a bike and wine tour that picked us up from our humble hostel abode and along with 14 other wine tasting participants drove an hour outside the city to quaint towns lazily stretched along the Danube River. Where Vienna might have failed to impress, the Austrian countryside did not.

We spent the day peddling our way from vineyard to vineyard and along the way made new friends, explored enchanting environs , consumed copious amounts of sweet white wine and climbed to the ruins of a castle where Richard the Lion Heart was once imprisoned.

It was an meanderingly fun day spent in the countryside amoung lovely company... aside from the one fellow who somehow lost his pants (I kid you not). If you're ever in that area, I highly recommend checking out Vienna Explorer Tours for a good time.

I adore Amsterdam, though having only been there in the winter I'm looking forward to warm sun filled summer days. We'll be enjoying bike rides along the canals, chowing down on the world's best pancakes, picnicking in the park, discovering hidden design shops and getting our dance on.

ReMake Design Challenge

Last Saturday, in support of Dublin making a bid for the 2014 Design Capital of the world, Remake Design Ireland hosted a "Chair Extravaganza" one day challenge that saw 50 designers descend upon 100 old and unwanted chairs in order to create one of a kind up-cycled pieces from the salvaged parts. (More info here)

I had only found out about the ReMake Design Challenge a mere 3 days before the event and initially was going to turn it down. A mixture of self doubt and fear had almost convinced me that I could never do something like this (the thought of having to build a chair terrified me!) before I got a grip, shook off the gremlins and mustered enough courage to sign up.

Before the chaos started

I was paired with another young designer, Conor Duff, the morning of and could not have been happier with the arrangement. Even though we had only met that day, Conor and I instantly hit it off and discovered that we had similar tastes and design aesthetics. Our strengths complimented one another and together we ended up creating 2 chairs in the time allocated with only minimal blood loss.

The day of the event flew by in a blur of sanding, painting and upholstering. An atmosphere of camaraderie filled the exhibition hall as fellow designers supported one another with suggestions, tricks and tools.

I was so honored to have been a part of this collective and am immensely proud to have helped create two beautiful pieces in such a short span of time.

I have been looking for something like this to participate in for ages, to find a group of creative peers. When I started out on this path of creating a creative business focusing on up-cycling furniture, I knew only what I had taught myself, which is to say: not much. I've never worked with wood, I'm not an industrial designer and I'm clumsy with tools. All I have is a passion that has grown in me over the past year. For so long I've wanted to call myself a "designer" and yet, when I first saw the email for this challenge, do you know what my first thought was? "I'm no designer. If I do this, everyone will see me for the fraud I am!"

Despite that doubt, deep down was a small whisper nudging me to enter.

At the end of the day when the winners were announced, I was completely and utterly shocked to hear that Conor and I nabbed one of the top overall design awards. Our chair will be sold at one of Dublin's newest design outlets, Industry after being featured in two exhibitions and this year's Fringe Festival.

I still can't believe we won. This whole experience has been a lesson in facing fears, taking risks and believing in yourself. For the first time I fully embraced this dream of mine and you know what? It's like I got a giant bear hug from the Universe in return.

Happy Tuesday nuggets! Did you have a nice weekend?

I wanted to pop on here to say that no I haven't been attacked by zombies and yes I am still alive.

"I say old friend, this man tastes like peanuts!"

Thanks to those of you who checked in and not so subtly told me to stop being lazy and start writing again. what are friends for if not a swift kick in the ass to get you back on track, right?

The past week or so has been full of challenges. Some exciting, some a little more anxiety causing but all a constant reminder that without the good and bad one can never grow. It took me a bit to figure that one out, but I realize now that it is my perception and reaction to a circumstance - not the circumstance itself - that causes growth.

I'm working overtime to get things done before Thursday when S. Monster and I head off to Amsterdam for some music festival fun. Posts will be scheduled while I'm away so there are a lot of great things that will pop up on the blog this week and next.

There's mega exciting news to be shared, final recap of the trip to be documented, 4 course homemade meal to brag about, art filled postcards sent out, studio sneak peeks and insights galore gleaned. Sprinkled throughout will be some inspiration and random tidbits of joy here and there.

Life 'round here is taking off, with new ventures and opportunities knocking down doors and I am so excited to share this wild, crazy, awesome ride with you.

It was a sun filled 3 days filled with good company, good food and good weather (It was so warm I didn't have to wear a jacket! Yippee!)

{Vienna} Falling in love off the beaten track

Hot off the heels of dark and decadent Prague, came Vienna, Austria.

Prim and proper Vienna in all of it's classical beauty. Meticulously spotless, every garden was pristine and every cobbled stone street swept clean - as if the entire city was washed down every night and neatly tidied up every morning before you awake. While undoubtably gorgeous, I found that sense of perfection tiresome (and slightly boring) after awhile.

While pleasing on the eyes, I had to wonder where was the edge? Where were the dark alleyways that one finds gems hiding, where the true essence of a city can be found? Outside of the city centre, far off the beaten path where the glitz and glamor have long since been forgotten I found what I was looking for in the Kunst Haus Wien.

The Hundertwassan museum is one of the most delectable museums I've ever been in. I spent 3 hours wandering inside and could have easily spent more. Established in 1991, the former Thonet furniture factory was remodeled on the basis of the renowned Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser's philosophy, artistic principles and designs. The first two floors hold a permanent collection of his work, while the top two floors are devoted to rotating exhibitions from various international artists. While there I had the privilege of seeing a comprehensive retrospective of H.R Giger's work entitled "Dreams and Visions." The bottom floor held the most charming of cafes and a dangerous collection of shiny trinkets in the gift shop.

Hundertwasser's work is captivating in it's sheer playfulness and childlike wonder. Inspired by nature and other revolutionary artists such as Gaudi, Hundertwasser's paintings, textiles and architecture exude an energy that fills you with joy. His use of color is almost sensual in it's vibrancy and when combined with gold and silver foils, the saturated tones creates a spectrum of hues I could have stared at all day.

An advocate for living a more sustainable life that coexists with rather than impedes on our environment, Hundertwasser incorporated his love of spirals, colors and organic forms into both his paintings and architecture. Calling straight lines "the devils tools" as they are not organically found in nature, neither his paintings nor his buildings incorporated any. Instead there is a whimsical surreal feel to his work that transports you to another place and time. In 1958 he formulated his "Mouldiness Manifesto Against Rationalism in Architecture" in which he denounced "rationalism, the straight line and functional architecture" and proclaimed himself an architectural doctor whose responsibility included "transforming ugly, monotonous and sterile buildings." How awesome is that? I am completely enamored with this guy and his viciousness to create a more beautiful life for generations to come.

In stock contrast to Hundertwasser's work lay the disturbingly brilliant, or rather brilliantly disturbing, pieces by H.R. Giger. The creative mastermind behind the otherworldly creatures in Ridley Scott's "Alien" and the hybrid female Sil from the film "Species," Giger captivates the nightmarish underworld of our subconscious with deadly precision. At times controversial, he is truly an artist of visions who uses the airbrushing technique to render his distinctive bio-mechanical style that is stunning in it's detail and painfully exquisite despite the demonic prose. Morbid, revolutionary and sexually charged Giger's work is thought provoking as it delves into the deepest innermost fears, doubts and desires of human psyche in a way that no one before, or after will ever so clearly articulate.

His work was the perfect antidote to Hundertwasser. The ying to the yang, the darkness to the light, the happy to the morbid -I found the two exhibits perfectly suited to accentuate the duality of human nature - or at the very least my own. I left completely blown away with inspiration, the likes of which come rushing back every time I'm reminded of my visit there.

It's safe to say the Kunst Huas Wien was a testament to all that I loved and despite my friend not wanting to come with, I am so thankful I forged ahead alone. One of the valuable tidbits I picked up on this trip was that at some point, it is vital to make time for yourself, to go off and explore on your own. Regardless of whether you're with your partner, lover, sister or as was my case, best friend - having that time alone can revitalize and lift your spirits. I was able to look at Vienna from a different perspective, to see the city with fresh eyes that did not include a guidebook summary of what I should see or do. Those few precious hours where I had no agenda, no one to please and nothing to do except wander aimlessly were exactly what I needed.I got myself lost and in doing so found myself.

{Prague} let's start at the beginning....

There is something deliciously dark and offbeat about Prague. Beneath the heavily tourist scene that crowds the St. Vitus Cathedral and storms the Charles Bridge, beats the heart of a deceptively hip city.

It’s a juggernaut of culture where classical meets contemporary and the mundane meets the enigmatically eccentric. Here is a place where giant bronzed babies crawling up a giant TV antenna compete with medieval bridges and gold tipped towers for the center of attention in the cities skyline. Yet despite that, or perhaps because of, Prague never takes itself too seriously. With it’s seamless blending of baroque, art nouveau, gothic and modern architecture painted in pretty shades of pastel colors, it has a style all its own.

Meandering afternoon walks gave way to decadent nights out. An anything goes policy reigns supreme and with some clubs not opening until 4am, this is a city where you can definitely party as hard as you like. The abundance of good cheap food kept us full, happy and hangover free as we took in all that the city had to offer.

I returned from my Eastern Europe backpacking adventure last week and am excited to get back into the swing of things. There's so much to catch up on - I missed all you lil blog readin' nuggets!

I think I may oversold myself a bit on the whole "blogging on the road idea." To be fair I did try but with the technological know-how of an embryo it just wasn't gonna happen. Trying to figure out how to do it on the iphone made my head hurt. I needed a real computer with a decent wifi connection. Unfortunately, since I spent my money on shiny objects and ice cream, I needed one with free high speed internet access which, let's be honest, wasn't really offered in the hostels we frequented (know what I'm sayin?)

I tried to get caught up in my writing once I got back, but every time I sat down I found myself facing writers block. With so much to talk about, how do you sit down to write if you have no idea where to begin?! As the days went by, I started feeling guilty for not writing. As the guilt grew, the list of things to write grew, and the anxiety over the need to now whip out a witty masterpiece to distract from my noticeable absence grew.

It finally dawned on me that there is no need for the guilt or anxiety. It was all in my head, and I realized it didn't matter that I didn't know what to write about, I just needed pick something and start. Not knowing takes time, but making a choice - thats instant - and in that instant is power. The longer I put off figuring out what to write about the longer I gave those poo throwing gremlins in my head more power. It doesn't matter that it's not witty or thought provoking or even very good. You just gotta do it.

So here I am. Doing it and I'm not gonna lie, there's an 80% chance of random and chaotic posts gracing these pages over the next few weeks. I can't promise that these posts will arrive in any sort of logical and comprehensible order. I also can't can promise that future posts may or may not include a reenactment of the Goonies, a rapping rabbit and robot zombies.

I can however promise that I'm ready to hit the ground a running all nimbly bimbly like...or at least make a feeble attempt at limping really, really quickly. Holy cactus batman, I worked out for 4 days last week after doing nothing for a month and I'm having lots of issues (more so than usual) with basic movements such as walking, opening the fridge and putting on pants. Thank zeus for elastic waistbands!

{Design crush} tropical chic

I (re)found this home when rummaging through my inspiration folder the other day and fell in love all over again. This light and airy beach house warms my Floridan heart on these cold and rainy Dublin days.

The bright, bold palette of turquoise, green and yellow exudes a happy tropical vibe and when paired with simple clean white furniture and accessories, the look is fresh and modern. I love how the original old growth fir floors keep the space relaxed and grounded, while the painted white ceilings adds a cheerful, light fueled airiness. Color, texture and flea market finds, combined with a few high end pieces creates a delightfully preppy bohemian beach house chic!

My dear friend Crystal sent over a link to this cool little diy project- a table that double duties as a picture frame. For all us small space dwellers this is a nifty option for times when you need a lil extra floor or table space.

There's so many ways you could make this project work for your home. You could go as bold and crazy or as simple and minimalist as your lil heart desires. From glam to bohemian the options are limitless. With the ability to easily (and inexpensively!) make this yourself, this fun, funky and functional table is clearly the bees knees.

Constructed by Fitzsimmons Architects, the use of color, reclaimed materials and innovative design creates a funky and eclectic vibe that fuses functionality with playful imagination, rock-n-roll sensibility and psychedelic flair.

From the Gaudiesque bathroom pod, to the mirror tiled tunnel leading into an outer space meets Supperclub themed bedroom and the Moooi ceiling light in the shape of a spider that dominates the kitchen, this home is sheer pop art awesomeness. A Dali, Gaudi, Warhol mash up that leaves me nothing short of inspired.

I saw this room on Bright Bazaar a few weeks back and haven't been able to get it out of my head. I'm not usually a white walled kinda gal, but the rich wood floors, abundance of light and bright pops of color work so well in this space. The mix of mid century furniture (how awesome is that sideboard? and the yellow couch?) and funky flea market finds creates a lovely eclectic vibe that I would be right at home with.

In other news, if you haven't checked out Bright Bazaar before (and like me, you're a design junkie who just can't get enough), then you must go there. right. now. Will's eye for color fueled designs and groovy details makes my lil interior lovin' heart swoon.
